BBL vs MOXI vs Morpheus8: Which Treatment Is Right for You?
One of the most common questions I get in clinic is:
“Which treatment do I actually need?”
With so many options—BBL, MOXI, Morpheus8—it can feel confusing. The truth is, each of these treatments serves a different purpose, and choosing the right one depends on your skin, your goals, and where you are in the aging process.
Here’s how I typically break it down for patients.
The Short Answer
If you’re looking for a quick starting point:
BBL is best for pigmentation, redness, and sun damage
MOXI improves tone, texture, and early signs of aging
Morpheus8 is for tightening, contouring, and deeper collagen remodeling
Most patients don’t need just one—they need the right combination over time.
BBL HEROic: Correcting Pigment and Redness
BBL (BroadBand Light) is one of my go-to treatments for improving overall skin clarity.
It works well for:
Sun damage
Brown spots
Redness and broken capillaries
Uneven skin tone
If your skin looks blotchy, dull, or uneven, BBL is often the first step. It helps reset the skin and create a more even foundation.
MOXI: Improving Tone and Texture
MOXI is a non-ablative laser that I use for patients who want to improve skin quality without significant downtime.
It’s great for:
Early signs of aging
Uneven texture
Pore size
Mild discoloration
MOXI is also one of my favorite treatments for maintenance. It keeps the skin looking healthy, smooth, and refreshed over time.
Morpheus8: Tightening and Structural Change
Morpheus8 is a different category entirely. This is where we start addressing skin laxity and deeper structural changes.
It’s best for:
Skin tightening
Jawline and lower face contouring
Fine lines and deeper wrinkles
Acne scarring
If your concern is sagging or loss of firmness, this is usually the right direction.
Do You Need to Choose Just One?
Not usually
In many cases, the best results come from combining treatments strategically.
For example:
BBL + MOXI works well for improving tone, texture, and overall skin quality
Morpheus8 can be layered in when we want to address tightening and deeper remodeling
This is where a personalized plan matters. The goal isn’t to do everything at once—it’s to do the right things in the right order.
How I Approach Treatment Planning
When I meet with a patient, I’m not just looking at one concern. I’m looking at:
Skin quality
Structure and volume
Long-term aging patterns
From there, we build a plan that makes sense for you—not just today, but over time.
The focus is always on natural, balanced results.
Not Sure Where to Start?
That’s completely normal.
