The Importance of a Good Faith Exam - and Why We Do Things Differently at Aleris

When it comes to medical aesthetics, safety and personalization should never be optional. That’s why at Aleris Aesthetics, every new patient begins their journey with a Good Faith Exam (GFE) performed by a licensed medical provider—most often, by me personally.

Even though the GFE is a legal requirement in the state of Washington for any medical procedure involving prescription products like neuromodulators, dermal fillers, or PRP, many med spas unfortunately skip this step. At Aleris, we view it not as a box to check, but as the foundation of safe, ethical, and individualized care.

What is a Good Faith Exam?

A Good Faith Exam is a medical evaluation performed before starting any aesthetic treatment plan. It’s our opportunity to review your health history, discuss your goals, assess your skin and facial anatomy, and ensure that the treatments we recommend are both safe and appropriate for you.

During your GFE, we review:

  • Your medical history, including any medications, allergies, or health conditions.

  • Contraindications that could affect treatment safety or outcomes.

  • Treatment goals and expected results.

  • A personalized care plan that aligns with your health and aesthetic vision.

This process allows us to establish a clear physician–patient relationship and ensures that every treatment is administered under proper medical oversight.

Why It Matters

A GFE isn’t just about compliance—it’s about trust. When a physician takes the time to evaluate your medical history and goals, it ensures that your aesthetic journey is guided by clinical judgment, not just sales or trends.

At Aleris, performing GFEs reinforces our belief that true beauty is rooted in safety, science, and care. It means every patient has a personalized plan that considers the whole person—their health, anatomy, and confidence.

Without this step, patients may be exposed to unnecessary risks or receive treatments that aren’t well-suited for their physiology or long-term goals.

How Aleris Stands Apart

Every injector and esthetician on our team works in direct collaboration with me as the Medical Director. We design treatment plans that blend artistry with medical precision—so you can feel confident that every procedure, from Botox to microneedling, is performed under the same standard of care you’d expect in a medical practice.

Our approach ensures that:

  • You are evaluated and cleared by a licensed physician before treatment.

  • Your plan is customized for your goals, anatomy, and medical history.

  • All procedures are performed under ongoing medical supervision.

This level of oversight isn’t common in aesthetics—but it’s exactly what sets Aleris apart.

A Commitment to Integrity in Aesthetics

Medicine, at its heart, is about trust and responsibility. As a physician, I take that responsibility seriously—whether I’m treating chronic conditions in family medicine or helping someone feel more confident in their own skin.

At Aleris, our commitment is simple:

To deliver beautiful, natural results without ever compromising safety, integrity, or ethics.

If you’re considering aesthetic treatments, I encourage you to choose a provider who values your safety as much as your results. Schedule your consultation at Aleris Aesthetics and experience the difference a physician-led, patient-centered approach can make.
